EHS Statement= Environment Health and Safety OVERVIEWFEICA is the umbrella Trade Association representing the interests of adhesive and sealant manufacturers, and their suppliers in Europe. FEICA is committed to working with its members to promote best practices to continually improve worker and user health and safety and to protecting the environment. RESPONSIBILITYFEICA supports the Charter of Sustainable Development and the principles of the Responsible Care programme as promoted by the European Chemical Industry Federation, and will work with its members to encourage similar support. COMMUNICATIONFEICA maintains extensive internal and external communications with its members to provide guidance on issues of interest to the industry including those relating to environment, health and safety protection. Information is provided in an open manner, ensuring members are quickly and efficiently kept up to date with issues that affect them or their customers. PRODUCT INFORMATION, WORKER SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTCompliance with European and/or national directives and regulations with respect to production, provision of product information, labelling and transportation of adhesives and sealants is only regarded as a minimum requirement. FEICA is aiming to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of up to date, accurate information and best practices in the field of Environment Health and Safety beyond legal requirements. PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTS – IMPACT ON NATURAL RESOURCESFEICA supports the principle of waste avoidance. Also waste material and energy recycling must have priority over land filling or incineration. It encourages members to work towards reducing their total use of limited resources throughout the product life-cycle when developing new products and production processes.
