From then on every two years meetings were held, mostly in the Netherlands and France, until in 1967 for the first time also European producers of chemical adhesives were invited to participate. In 1968 the first liaison office in Düsseldorf was established and in 1969 the decision was taken to elect a new president of the liaison office every year. Finally, in 1972 FEICA ( Fédération Européenne des Industries de Colles et Adhésifs) was founded in the first General Assembly being held in Rome with the election of Mr. Wilfried de Kesel, Fédération des Industries Chimiques de Belgique, as first president of the new Association of European Adhesives and Sealants Manufacturers. The presidentships of the following years are listed under “FEICA in brief – Presidents”. From 1972 up to now FEICA has experienced a continuous growth with respect either to Member Associations (15 up to now) as well as to the variety of the fields of application and standardisation of adhesives, transport of dangerous goods and many other aspects. Meanwhile contacts have been established not only with America (Adhesives and Sealants Council) but also with Asia (World Adhesives Conference 2004, Beijing), and the General Assemblies and Expositions are attended by delegates and experts from throughout the world. To the Top -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FEICA MISSION STATEMENT FEICA is the multinational association of the European adhesives industry representing the national adhesives industry associations. With the support of its member associations FEICA co-ordinates and represents the common interest of the adhesives industry throughout Europe. The mission of FEICA is to take the lead in resolving multinational issues affecting the industry in co-operation with its national association members.
